Explore York by water and foot

Join GTO magazine and City Cruises York on a river cruise and a visit to York on Wednesday 18th September.

Enjoy a lunch time cruise with commentary along the River Ouse learning the history of York and see stunning views of the city and countryside from the river. During your cruise you will find out about the variety of private cruises available to groups including afternoon tea and evening trips. After lunch, readers will be met by a Guide, for an introductory walking tour of the city ending at York Minster. GTOs will be given complimentary York passes so that you can complete your day by visiting your choice of attractions.

How to apply

The Enjoy a Cruise and visit York Readers’ Event is open to genuine GTOs looking to bring a group back in the future. GTOs may apply for a maximum of two tickets, and there are up to 44 places in total.*

To apply tick the relevant box on our Free Readers Response Service by 1st September 2019.

Successful applicants will be advised by 10th September. Failure to advise us of cancellations will result in exclusion from future Reader’s Events.

The itinerary:

Wednesday 18th September
11.30am Arrive City Cruises York – King’s Staith Landing to embark. (car and coach park adjacent).*
11.45am Lunch Cruise departs.
12pm Enjoy lunch with a glass of wine.**
12.30pm Sit back and enjoy the scenery and commentary about the history of the river and York.
1.15pm Cruise ends. ‘Explore York’ on a guided walking tour.
2.15pm Arrive at York Minster.
2.30pm Free time to enjoy your choice of York’s varied attractions using the complimentary York Pass.
