A Splendid Combination
Sue Poole from Wooburn Outings joined our Readers’ Day to Savill Garden in May last year. She returned with her group last autumn.
‘I took my group to see the beautiful Savill Garden in Windsor Great Park in September. We were fortunate that the rain held off and we had a wonderful time looking round the garden at this time of the year. My group enjoyed the visit so much that they requested I take them back again to see the gardens in the Spring, which I certainly will (it is my favourite time of year!).
We also went to Dorney Court, a Tudor Manor House on the estate. This is a splendid combination. They opened for us especially on the day as the house had shut for the season the day before. We had an excellent tour with a member of the family who owns the property. It was a beautiful house, full of character and with lots of stories about the history and family, who have owned it for generations. After the tour we had a refreshing break in the very good café/garden centre, before heading home. I really must do Dorney Court again for my other group!’
