Tyrolean cheer

Maureen Tidbury of M & G Holidays in West Sussex plans regular holidays for her members and in autumn 2016 she took a group of 47 people on a four-night break to the Austrian Tyrol.

‘All the group thoroughly enjoyed this holiday to the Austrian Tyrol where we had a varied itinerary put together by Success Tours, with time to explore on our own as well as guided tours.

After flying from Gatwick to Salzburg, we travelled by coach to the comfortable Kirkberger Hof Hotel in the small mountain town of Kirchberg. The hotel was ideally placed close both to  shops and hiking paths, the food and was delicious and after dinner we danced and sang the night away.

Our holiday included two day trips, one to the amazing Krimmi Waterfalls, the highest in Austria, with a coach tour through the spectacular alpine scenery of the Gerlos pass. The second trip was to Salzburg – the setting for the musical play and film of The Sound of Music – and we had plenty of time to explore the unspoilt UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Old Town.

I work mainly with Tony Flanagan and Andy Wenham from Success Tours and always find them excellent. They come up with lots of ideas, which make the holidays very pleasurable for my members but their back up and support means I have a stress free time too!

I’d also like to recommend the New Meridian, group travel organiser association to other organisers. The fam trips and events they organise are fantastic and the ones I have been on are giving me lots of ideas for holidays for the future.’
